The story
My English teacher saw my video work freshman year and told me about The Raptor Report. I joined sophomore year and have been the lead video editor since then. I make staff introductions, sports hype videos, interviews and videos about what’s happening at school.
One of my favorites is the teachers vs. seniors basketball game. I made it like an episode of The Office, interviewing people and joking around with teachers before the game. It was full of things people at our school would get.

I film interviews and school events, then shape the footage through editing, pacing and sound. The Raptor Report publishes the finished videos through its school newspaper site.
The hard part
I’ve mostly been doing the video work on my own. This year, I’m teaching a few people to edit so we can work together. That’s a big part of why I built SharedCut.
What came out of it
I’ve won state awards and placed second in Quill and Scroll’s 2025 Beginning Videographer category. But I really love seeing the videos played in class. After the basketball video, people I didn’t even know came up to tell me how funny it was.
